HOW TO BREW A PERFECT CUP OF TEA
Posted on August 09 2017
A good cup of tea can lift your spirits and keep you warm, and there are hundreds of varieties of tea so there are many different ways to brew it depending on what tea you are using. Here is a quick guide to keep your tea tasting top notch!
1. Always use freshly drawn cold water in your kettle. Try to use filtered water if you can. Tea likes oxygen so if you keep re-boiling your water you will lose the freshness in your cup.
2. Boil the tea between 80 - 100 degrees. See the temperature guide for your favourite tea. If you do not have a kettle with a temperature gauge on it then just boil the kettle and leave it a minute to cool once it has come to the boil. Green tea should be brewed for 3 minutes and black for 3-5 minutes, depending how strong you like it.
3. Use the recommended brew time for your tea, it really does make a difference. As a general rule brew for at least 3 mins, but some teas such as herbal tisanes will need up to 5 mins.
4. Now put your feet up and enjoy.
